Today we visited the bio-organic vineyard and the organic wine grower Dr. Frey in Kanzem and it was an unforgettable experience! But first we had to meet at the school and walk all the way to the location of the vineyard. It was a long but beautiful walk through the forest and valleys with other vineyards. Join our hiking tour here:
When we arrived the owners welcomed us with lots of food. We all had brunch together and we were told something about the history of the place. The vineyard is family-owned and operated, which gives it a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
After we had finished eating, the owner explained to us how everything works in their vineyard and we got on our way to the actual plantations. On the way we made a stop to see the goats they also own and we even got to feed them.
At the plantations there were snacks prepared for us. We sat down and listened to more information about wine production.
You can learn about organic farming and the history and methods used by the organic wine grower in Kanzem (approx. 00:20min) here:
The whole tour was informative and interesting, and it was amazing to see how much care and attention goes into producing bio-organic wine.
In the late afternoon all the exchange students from Spain and the Czech Republic spent time with their partners and host families to get to know each other even better and also rest to be ready for tomorrow!
