Today was a day full of final challenges, which started with us coming to school at 8:30 and discussing the digital questionnaire about sustainable living, for which we had hung QR codes all over the school on Tuesday. This was one of the challenges we were given to find out about sustainable living in our school. Here are some of the outcomes: Most people come to school by bus or on foot. Many people bring lunchboxes and reusable water bottles. Most students buy new clothes every 3-9 months but there are some that buy new clothes every week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end we came to the conclusion that the poles were not very accurate because very few people actually answered the questionnaire, which makes us wonder whether most people don\u2019t actually care about sustainability.\u00a0We would like to repeat this survey in our school as part of our ongoing Erasmus+ project and hope for more participation next time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After break time, we made some posters in groups about the things that we have learnt and done over these last few days based on the challenges about sustainable consumption and production. For example, paying more attention to supermarket labels when buying food, heating our school sustainably and producing organic wine and regional products like our school’s honey. You can find these posters in the glass display cabinets in the E building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After that Mrs Ihrig set us a challenge to make our own photo albums using photos which she took this week. Everyone in our project also signed them for each student to remember the week in Germany. This was a nice present for us and our guests to take home, because tomorrow is our last day together. <\/p>\n\n\n

We ate some lunch and helped to tidy up the classroom, then we walked to the train station and took the train to Trier. When we arrived, we walked to the Porta Nigra, which most of our guests hadn’t seen yet. They started taking photos because they were impressed by the old Roman gates. Then we got into groups for our final challenge of the day: a city quiz game. We used an app called Action Bound, and as a group we had to walk around the centre of the city, to find out different things that had to do with sustainability and the history of Trier. This included answering questions, taking photos of regional products and finding examples of sustainable projects in Trier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we finished this challenge, we had free time in the city, so we said good bye to our teachers and some people went bowling or did other fun stuff like shopping. Overall it was a nice day full of different challenges!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
